Lago Santo Mountain Race
Lago Santo Mountain Race is a trail running race that takes place inside the Parco del Frignano (MO), near the glacial basin of the Modenese Lake Santo
The race will take place along a route that will start and finish in Sant’Annapelago, a hamlet of Pievepelago (MO), following a 22 km long circuit with 1200 m D+
The start of the race is scheduled for 9.30 am, race check in is at 7.30 am at the Church of Sant’Anna in Via Chiesa in Sant’Annapelago (MO) where the race village will be set up
Start at the parish church, straight on to Via Capanne until the end of an asphalted road, enter the ‘scorzatello’ service track which goes as far as Selva, from where you continue up the ski slope up to the Scorzatello refuge. Turn left for the ancient low forest road of the ‘Saltello’, continue up to the ‘Saltello’ pass. Turn left for CAI 00 up to ‘Colle Bruciata’. Turn left for CAI 529 up to the shoreline ‘Lago Santo’ which you follow up to ‘Rifugio Vittoria’. Turn left for CAI 529 up to ‘Passo Boccaia’ and then turn right for CAI 539. Descent to the forest road where you turn left and follow for one km, then turn right for CAI 539 up to ford torrent ‘Valdarno’, follow path up to ‘via Borracce’ that you go uphill to the municipal sports field. Entry into the municipal cross-country ski ring until the point of arrival at the parish church.
